Terms and Conditions


Moggy Poppins will provide morning or afternoon visits as previously agreed. We cannot guarantee a specific visiting time but will accommodate requests as closely as possible.

Bank Holidays are charged at time and a half with the exception of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day which is charged at double the standard fee. 

For all new clients an initial consultation will be required to complete registration and hand over keys and deposit. This is a free consultation.


A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the full booking fee will be payable at the time of booking.

In the event of cancellations that are notified to us less than 14 days prior to the start of the booking period 50% of the full booking fee will be payable. The balance and any other outstanding amounts will be payable at the end of the booking.


All dogs must wear a collar and tag with the telephone number of the owner engraved upon it.

Dog must be in a secure location prior to collection by the dog walker.

All dogs must be provided with a well-fitting collar / harness. If your dog does or has ever used a muzzle this should be made available for use at our discretion

Moggy Poppins will not be held liable for any injury or any damage caused or incurred by the client’s dog escaping due to an ill-fitting or faulty collar / harness.

Moggy Poppins will not confirm any booking until there has been a consultation with the owner who must disclose any behavioural or medical condition that may make their dog unsuitable for group walks. This would include, but is not limited to, antisocial behaviour, aggression, possessive behaviour, lack of training and conditions such as incontinence, chronic vomiting or travel/ mobility problems.

Moggy Poppins reserve the right to refuse or discontinue walks for any dog deemed to be unsuitable for group walks.

Towels should be provided if you wish your dog to be wiped down following the walk especially in adverse weather.

Moggy Poppin’s walks are carried out where dogs can be safely walked off the lead.Though we endeavour to ensure the safety of all dogs, letting dogs walk off the lead carries a risk therefore dogs will only be allowed off the lead with the consent of the owner.

The client agrees to be responsible for all costs (including but not limited to medical care, legal fees, etc) if the client’s pet(s) should injure another animal. 

If the client’s dog(s) shows aggressive tendencies whilst being walked, or if its behaviour becomes uncontrollable, the client agrees that the service is terminated with immediate effect and the dog will be returned home. 


If essential items need to be purchased in the absence of the client – i.e. pet food, litter, cleaning supplies, Moggy Poppins will purchase these, and the cost of these items will be added to the final invoice


Moggy Poppins will collect your house key during the initial consultation. This key will be held by Moggy Poppins and will be coded for security and kept securely. 

Moggy Poppins are happy to retain your keys for convenience for future bookings, but should you prefer, these can be collected at a pre-arranged time from Moggy Poppins or dropped off by us for a fee of £5.

Please ensure your emergency contact has a spare set of keys in case of an emergency.

Your details

Please inform us of any changes regarding your contact numbers, your pet’s care needs, your emergency contact details and other pertinent information.

All your information will be kept private and confidential and will not be shared with third parties.

Moggy Poppins is insured by Cliverton, for the peace of mind of its clients. The insurance only covers Moggy Poppins, for the duration of the selected service, and only for services agreed. 

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the property, its contents and pets are adequately insured throughout the duration of the assignment. 


Moggy Poppins will follow instructions to administer medications as directed but cannot be held responsible for complications that arise as a result.

Pet Waste 

Moggy Poppins will properly dispose of your pet’s waste. For cat litter trays we do request that you provide all necessary items such as scooper, cat litter and plastic bags and indicate where you would like these waste bags disposed of.  The same for any other home-based animal.  For dog walking we will properly dispose of pet waste and request that you provide waste bags for this, we may, however, need to sometimes bring the waste back to dispose of in your outside waste bin.

House Cleanliness 

Moggy Poppins will clean up after your pets to the best of our ability but cannot take responsibility of stains caused by your pet.

We request that you provide plastic bags, towels, cleaning products, paper towels and bin bags. Please give us details of where cleaning supplies are stored and how waste should be disposed of.

Household Emergencies 

Details of the mains water stop cock are to be provided on the Moggy Poppins care form. 

In the event of an emergency such as a break in or burst pipe etc., we will make every effort to contact you directly. If it not possible to contact you, we will contact your emergency contact to arrange any emergency repairs.

Changes to return date 

If the client’s return is delayed, they must inform Moggy Poppins immediately, to ensure continued cover. Extra cover will be charged at the advertised rates. 


Moggy Poppins accepts cash or bank transfer, (please ask for bank details) 

A 25% non-refundable deposit of the total sum due is payable to Moggy Poppins at the time of booking. 

The remaining balance is due at the end of the service (Please see our cancellation policy)

Where services are required long term, the client may make payment on a monthly basis. 

Where payment is not received in accordance with these terms and conditions of business, the company reserves the right not to proceed with any previously agreed arrangements, and a cancellation fee will be payable. 


Moggy Poppins will always endeavour to keep your pet safe however we do not accept any responsibility or liability for any client’s animals that become ill, or become lost or injured, fatal or otherwise.

Moggy Poppins shall not be liable to the client or be deemed to be in breach of the contract by reason of any delay in performing, or any failure to perform, any of its obligations in relation to the services, if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond Moggy Poppin’s reasonable control.

Moggy Poppins does not accept liability for other persons who will be in your home prior to, during or immediately after our services have been completed. Please inform us at the time of consultation of anyone who may have access to your home while you are away. This includes cleaning services, maintenance personnel, friends, family and neighbours. It is understood that the client will notify anyone with access to the home that the services of Moggy Poppins have been engaged.


Clients will be deemed to have accepted Moggy Poppins terms and conditions (as laid out here) on booking of services.

The client gives Moggy Poppins permission to enter their property to carry out the booked service at the arranged date and time.

The client must provide Moggy Poppins with a name and contact telephone number of someone capable of making a decision relating to their pet in an emergency. A nominated vet’s details will also be recorded, and they will be contacted if we are unable to communicate with the client. Please note that in an emergency we may use another vet other than the one specified, if this is in the interest of the animal’s safety.
